New Independent Chair for HCIA
20 November 2025
Today the Hearing Care Industry Association announced the appointment of Nina Quinn as its first Independent Chair. She is well positioned to lead HCIA.
Nina has served as an HCIA member since 2008 and was appointed to the Board as an independent Director from 1 July 2021. As a qualified audiologist, Nina has worked for Government providers, industry manufacturers and served as the Managing Director, Neurosensory (2008-2024).
Nina was the audiologist representative on the OHNS Clinical Committee as part of the Medicare Taskforce (2018-2023), has been an Audiology Australia federal councillor, and has worked on numerous taskforces and committees aimed at improving the access to, and quality of, hearing care for Australians. Nina has an MBA, is a qualified Audiologist with a Bachelor of Science, a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently is the CEO of Queensland Cardiovascular Group. As well as being supremely qualified, she is a passionate champion of hearing health.
“I am delighted for the opportunity to Chair HCIA and bring an independent perspective. But firstly, I would like to acknowledge the outgoing Chair James Benston for his role in leading HCIA to facilitate access to world-class hearing healthcare for hearing-impaired Australians. As he leaves the role at HCIA we congratulate his promotion to President APAC for WSA and know he will continue to be a friend and mentor to many in the sector,” Nina said.
“I am also joined at the Board table by the very able Deputy Chair Adam Redman who is also taking on the role of Company Secretary. Adam brings over two decades of regulatory, government relations and public affairs leadership across some of Australia’s largest listed companies and icon branded organisations in highly complex regulatory contexts – and leads Regulatory and Public Affairs for Amplifon, a major provider of clinics for hearing loss, technology, testing and treatment,” she said.
“HCIA also welcomes Grant Ewer as a non-executive Director. I have known Grant for many years as a committed and respected leader in the hearing care sector. Grant began his career as an Audiologist after graduating from Macquarie University in 2004 and has since held senior leadership roles in both retail and wholesale organisations – and he is also stepping up as Managing Director for Retail ANZ at WSA, another global leader in hearing healthcare,” Nina continued.
“With Matthew Pitt and Paul Cottee continuing as non-executive Directors, we have an accomplished and talented Board at HCIA. Together, we will drive the work to increase access to hearing care for all Australians who need it over their lifetime,” said Nina.
